Tiki Beach — Mangawhai's Wellness Sanctuary

Set on a natural, gently sloping hillside that looks east to the ocean and out to Little Barrier & great Barrier, with native trees & gentally rolling hills - it curves into its own open-air amphitheatre.

Tiki Beach is more than just its day to day spa for standard guests — it's also a work space for people who hold space for others. We built this place with wellness practitioners in mind: somewhere you can arrive as a guest and be fully looked after, or arrive as a host and bring your own community together.

As a guest, step into the standard Tiki Beach experience — massage from a range of practitioners and modalities, three hot tubs, a six-person hot stone Finnish sauna, and a two-person ice bath, all designed to reset the nervous system and restore balance to mind and body. It's restoration built on contrast therapy and skilled touch, not just relaxation.

As a host, Tiki Beach becomes you to host your own event. Our 150m² workshop space is fully open for yoga teachers, breathwork facilitators, sound healers, retreat leaders, and wellness practitioners of every kind to run their own sessions, workshops, and retreats — supported by the same facilities our guests love. Picture a sunrise breathwork circle on the hillside amphitheatre, a full-day retreat moving between workshop space and sauna, or an evening sound bath followed by hot tubs under the stars. The natural terrain does half the work for you, and everything else — massage treatment room, hot stone sauna, ice bath recovery — is here to round out the experience for your own clients.

We welcome practitioners to think of Tiki Beach as an extension of their practice: a place to bring your own people, run your own program, and lean on facilities built specifically for restoration work. Whether you're here to receive or here to hold space for others, this is Mangawhai's first purpose-built day spa and wellness retreat — and it's yours to use.
